We all have to start somewhere. Some are lucky enough to get into cycling in childhood, but many people take up cycling as adults. Lots of the Coasters started relatively recently and we are very keen to introduce people to the wonders of cycling!
Beginners ridesThe WCCC rides most suitable for beginners are the Family Rides and 'green' club rides (including Coasters For All). In particular, we run evening Beginners Rides during the summer months. These are run by Kate Goodwin, who is one of our club coaches and a British Cycling Breeze ambassador. The Beginners Rides are designed to help and encourage people as they make the transition from short pootles along the Camel Trail to longer, hillier rides on roads. See the club rides page for details.

While Wadebridge Coasters CC aims to be a club for all cyclists, we have to be realistic about our capacity to help more 'wobbly' beginners, so we do require a minimum ability level, even for these beginners rides: this is simply that you need to be able at least to cycle to Padstow and back on the Camel Trail. If you're not quite at that stage yet, then don't worry, here are some more options:
Some older beginners, or those with disabilities, may also be interested in our Coasters For All programme, which offers professional cycle instruction as well as its own club rides.

Our club has strong links with Cycle Training Cornwall, based here in Wadebridge. Their fully qualified instructors will be able to get you pedalling, and can also give you invaluable training to help you cycle safely on roads and in traffic. They charge around £20 to £30/hour depending on the training required.
