Triathlons

For some cycling alone is not enough and needs to be sandwiched between swimming and running. For the multitaskers among us there are Triathlons...

Triathlon is a rapidly growing sport - it’s friendly, accessible for all abilities and multi-sport racing is great fun! The challenge is undertaking not just one, two or three sports, but transitioning between them. Aquathons, duathlon and triathlon combine swimming, cycling and running and can be completed either individually or as part of a team.  A swim can be open water or pool-based, a road or off-road cycle and then either a road or trail run.  Distances go from super sprints [400m/10km/2.5km] up to Ironman distances [3.9km/180km/42km] and beyond.

Here in north Cornwall we are lucky to have a fantastic environment to train in.  Great beaches and rivers for swimming, roads to cycle on and coast paths to run. We have a small but growing contingent of varied abilities within the club who compete.  No specialist equipment is needed beyond what you probably already have. Come and get involved, tap us up for information about swim spots, for friendly local races or training advice. The all-round fitness benefit and injury prevention gained from undertaken multisport shouldn’t be understated!
