Even if you've been cycling for years, a bit of good cycle coaching will help you to ride more efficiently, more safely and faster. It's easy to pick up bad habits, and many riders have simply never had some basic techniques explained to them. Our award-winning coaches and instructors try to help our members to become better bike riders by providing access to coaching, whatever their age.
Our coaching generally focuses on technique coaching more than 'fitness training'. We can advise you on the latter, but getting stronger and improving endurance generally follow on from improving technique and riding more. There is also a plethora of good advice and training plans online, e.g. through British Cycling. Having said that, our training rides will often include elements designed to improve both skills and fitness, such as hill repeats or intervals.
coaching sessionsCycling coaching is not only very useful, but great fun too! We run adult coaching sessions by arrangement, which usually take place on Saturday mornings before Coasters Kids.
Some club 'training' rides may incorporate a bit of informal coaching before setting off to practice the techniques that have just been taught. Teaching or refreshing adults' cycle skills is also fundamental to the aims of Coasters For All.
We incorporate road safety skills into our coaching to help keep the Coasters safe and protect the reputation of the club. We have strong links with Cycle Training Cornwall who offer training in safe road cycling of all kinds. |
Children at secondary school are also welcome to join adult coaching sessions:
- Participants must be members of Wadebridge Coasters CC
- Annual parental consent must have been given by means of an Under 18s Consent Form. Download here.
- British Cycling membership is encouraged, especially for racing
